This was my third full moon party in Thailand and apart from loosing my Indian friend, Akhi, after some time, I really enjoyed it again, especially one thing in particular, which I share here…
THE EXPERIENCE
After painting myself and each other, Akhi (my Indian friend) and me seemed ready and excited for the full moon party celebration at Haad Rin Beach. We tried to meet some other friends at the Cactus bar (the first bar when you approach the beach on the left); and even after looking for at least 30 minutes, we couldn’t find them – it’s impossible to find someone, so I recommend arrange your meeting smartly. Yet others I had just met once, we bumped into 3-4 times, ha ha.
Dancing on the beach and partying was a lot of fun until I lost Akhi–once coming back from the toilet (peeing into the ocean – oops sorry), he wasn’t where I had left him. I looked for him for a while but couldn’t find him. I continued to some other bars along the Haad Rin Beach until I found this fun activity: a huge skipping rope on fire to jump for numerous people at the same time and I joined in.

Once I started, I did it again and again and again, … until I was totally exhausted, jumping in the sand for about 25 minutes and burning my hairs on my head and legs later. I would totally do it again. My recommendation: don’t just stand there telling yourself, “Yes, the next around, I will join”. Go and just do it – it’s so much fun !
Fun fact: After returning back to Germany I went to get a hair cut at my barber and before he even started and before I was even able to say anything, he asked: “Did you burn your hair ?” ha ha ha.
