Who is I TRAVEL FOREVER ?
Hi there. It’s me behind the site: Tobi from Germany–a travel fanatic who follows his heart and soul, doesn’t have a comfort zone anymore, loves mixing with the locals, and has the desire to inspire every single person on the planet to travel more. He calls his home everywhere around the globe.
How has traveling changed your life ?
Traveling has completely changed my life and the way I think and perceive things. Now I’m more outgoing, have a lot of confidence, am able to connect with anybody wherever I go; and people in my surrounding environment seem to be very interested in listening to my travel stories.
How long would you recommend to travel for and with what budget ?
To answer this question is quite difficult as it depends on the person and the intention of the perhaps once in a lifetime trip. However, in my personal experience having traveled for 2; 4; 10 months trips recommend between 3-5 months because it allows to not have to rush so much and isn’t too long to make settling back hard. Depending on the continent I would recommend a budget of at least $2,000 / month.
How did you get into blogging ?
I first started blogging for family and friends: my first travel blog was called: wasmachtweber.blogspot. Ever since, I have become very passionate about it, have researched what readers want to know and have designed a new website in a format that I hope all will love and be inspired by.
Who do you travel with ?
Most of the time, I travel by myself and love it that way because it is the best way to get to know yourself and feel free to follow your own interests and decisions. But traveling solo doesn’t mean you are constantly by yourself; in fact, it’s just the opposite. It means that you can meet even more people and make your own decisions about who, where, and for how long. Sometimes I travel with family and friends: it is important to spend time with the people I love !
If you had $10,000 what would you do ?
If I had $10,000 I would definitely use that money to travel the world. I would probably take my next desired trip to spend at least 3-months traveling to Central America, Patagonia and cruise through Antarctica.

What are Germans like when they travel ?
Two words: very efficient. The first thing we all do when we wake up in the morning is put on socks and sandals to rush down to the pool to reserve a chair with towels. It has become a tradition and it seems that many other countries are now doing it too. Then, we want to be the first one at the breakfast buffet – we love it. During the day, we just drink beer and stay in the shade so as not to burn. After dinner, not seeking any fun, it’s time for an early night. No matter about missing amusement since Germans don’t have a sense of humor anyway. Plus, we don’t like to get out of our comfort zone ! #sarcasm
How did you come up with I TRAVEL FOREVER ?
I came up with I TRAVEL FOREVER while doing an internship in Mallorca, Spain. One night, I needed another purpose in life and started a new travel blog. The short name is ITF and it is a personal dream I am pursuing. Over time now it has become a lifestyle and a big part of my life. I strongly believe that others have the same desire to travel forever.
How does ITF travel ?
Throughout my travel experience of 1,273 days within 52 countries, I found my own way of travel style that I love doing and that is connecting with the locals. Read more about it here Travel like I TRAVEL FOREVER
How do you afford to travel so much ?
My simple suggestion is work and save to travel more. In my daily life, I usually try not to waste money and spend it very carefully on selected items that I really need. I don’t spend much money on clothing. I don’t drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes. So, if you are planning to travel the world, this may be a good time to quit !
How do you blog ?
For me personally it is very important to enjoy every trip that I take to the fullest. My focus is on the experience and to become one with the place. So, my motto is; first enjoy the moment, sometimes use Instagram story or Snapchat to keep all my followers updated and then afterwards share the experience with some quality stories and recommendations.
Are you ever scared traveling solo ?
No, when traveling I am never afraid to visit a place because of stories, experiences or known myths told by locals or friends. That’s just me, I am always excited to travel to a new place; and rather than being scared, once I arrive I walk around like I own the place.
What is your best travel recommendation ?
Travel like ITF.
What is your favorite place ?
I never actually like to answer this question with just one destination; but if I had to I would probably pick the Galápagos Islands in Ecuador. Carnival in Rio is a once-in-a-lifetime event that everybody must experience. It’s the toughest question to answer because it is constantly changing with new and recent travel destinations. The sad part is the longer ago the visit was the less likely I would name it.
What was your three most frightening experiences ?
- Car accident in the desert
- Got punched unconscious
- Altitude sickness
What's your favorite music ?
I listen to whatever sounds good and in any language from Hip Hop, Salsa to Classical. Since my visit to Cali in Colombia I really like listening to Salsa, Bachata and Reggaeton. So if you know a good song, message me !
