Just landed in Bangkok. Without a plan in the pocket, my friend Akhi and me (reunited after three years) were off to Khao San Road to eat Pad Thai. First we dropped off our luggage at the hostel, had a quick 30-minute oil massage and then time to hit Khao San Road. We really had a crazy night in Bangkok and it all started with Chang beer – of course.

First stop: Khao San Road
First stop was Khao San Road with numerous bars, drinks, loud music and a lot of people from around the world – so the night started with dancing and meeting people.
At about midnight, we missed the ping pong show because it was, according to the tuk tuk driver, already too late, so we ended up being taken to Shock 39 (300 baht ca. 8 USD entrance cost incl. a drink). It was really bad because everything seemed fake with everyone either a lady boy or a prostitute – so we left after 5 minutes.
Going with the flow
Then it was time to catch another taxi to the Holiday Inn because the driver promised that it would be a good club. We arrived but it was too strange to go in, so we refused. They didn’t want us to have a look inside before we paid about 10 USD. The driver didn’t get his commission, so he became really angry at us. We gave the driver 1 USD anyway to stay happy. The ride there was fun though – ha ha.
Funny local experience
We then took a seat just outside a street bar with music and met an Indian guy – quite weird but the conversation was fun. We went around the corner to quickly pee, when somebody screamed from the building; we ran around the corner and randomly joined this group of two girls and one guy drinking. It was so funny because perhaps the person who had screamed came and asked, “You pee pee ?” It was so funny but I denied it and continued pretending it wasn’t us. Ended up staying with a local Thai group for about 1.5 hours, which was fun.
Pad Thai before sleep at 7am
Then a taxi ride with Muhammad Ali to Khao San Road. He was a wise man who was whispering about his life – yes, he was one of those drivers. Then a quick pit stop at the 7 Eleven and then on to eat Pad Thai and spring rolls at the best place in Bangkok.
Crazy night in Bangkok that ended up with me falling into the hostel bed at 7am.
