This time, it was a travel journey into the unknown. I didn’t know where I was going until I was about to board the plane. Barcelona was the destination, organised by my beautiful girlfriend. Here I share the highlights and where to have the best tapas and ice cream – vamanos !
Park Güell (nature, lookout)
The Park Güell is a really nice park where we enjoyed the views overlooking Barcelona and also peaceful music played by locals. I recommend the early mornings as it not to be so crowded and especially the viewpoint from Turó de les Tres Creus. We couldn’t see the major works of Gaudi as you need a ticket, but I wasn’t sad about it because it was very crowded. Here is the link in case you decide to go: www.parkguell.cat/en/

Tibidabo amusment park (old-fashion amusement park, sunset)
This was an amazing spot to watch the sunset, but it also seemed like a very non-touristic spot – on a hill just outside Barcelona with a very cute, old-fashioned amusement park. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed it up there. If you stay late until closing be aware that the public bus queue can get very long.

Massage at the beach
Really enjoyed being on the beach in March, and luckily this Asian-looking women came by and asked me for a massage – 20 minutes for 10 euro – a bargain ! The sunset here was also really nice. Be aware of harassing guys trying to sell something. However, the sarong that fits two people for only 10 euro is definitely worth buying.

Segrada Familia
It is the unfinished church from Gaudi – nice to see from the outside because it has quite a “strange” style, but it is very touristy.

Arc de Triomph
This is also a real historic and high-demand tourist hotspot, which I don’t think is very important unless you love red colored arches.
I TRAVEL FOREVER’s VIEW & RECOMMENDATION
Timing made the unplanned to Barcelona pretty good so we could enjoy it before the tourist crowds flood in; nevertheless I had the feeling that it was already pretty crowded. Ha ha. In the end, I enjoyed the trip to Barcelona and short getaway, but I think it’s quite expensive to travel there.
