Frankfurt – Ma(i)nhattan City, the city, where the things are happening. Did you know that Frankfurt’s Central Station district, about a hundred years ago, was used to be a rich neighbourhood ? Right, me neither – and has then turned into a red light district, which is occupied by shops, bars, restaurants and prostitutes run by Hells Angels, Russian and the Italian Mafia. Frankfurt am Main, the most important financial capital city in Germany has a lot of history, character and so many other sides to discover !
How to get there ?
The easiest way to get around is by public transportation. Going around to explore the city sights can be also be done by foot, bike or with the sightseeing bus. I recommend the RMV app for transportation lines + schedule. Note: If the tram comes 10 minutes late, you can claim the money back.

Frankfurt Skyline
Frankfurt is the German city that has a solid skyline compared to all the others and is located next to the Main river. In my opinion tho is the city very hectic, busy, ugly and run down in some parts but incredibly interesting to discover on the other side. I’m sure there is a lot of good restaurants but from my experience the food options on Münchner Straße near the central railway station district did the job with food from all around the world. Maybe you can comment with some ideas below.
Free walking tour
The free walking tour was very good because I got a first feel of how the city is set up and discovered the most important sights including the red light district. I recommend the 2-2,5 hours free walking tour in order to find out a lot of good information, also historically about Frankfurt city.
Lock your love bridge
At the Eiserner Steg bridge, another ‘lock your love’ spot in Germany surrounded of a very romantic scenery above the Main river.
Dance salsa at night. Where to go ?
Totally loved dancing at the Tanzschule Conexion. The separate their rooms by dance style: Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, Mambo. I was so happy to have been there the night when they hosted my friends and salsa teachers with their school SalsaPura from Colombia. That’s why I recommend to check out their events in advance.
TW CRAZINESS
One moment is what I needed to climb up the bin and get a selfie with Frankfurt’s city skyline on a beautiful sunny (clear blue sky) day. Some people may have thought I was crazy climbing up the bin that wasn’t very stable.
General Knowledge that would be rude if I would hide it: Red Light District
I think for some of you that are interested in making love can find it in the red light district between 30-50€.
I TRAVEL FOREVER’s VIEW & RECOMMENDATION
I recommend to visit Frankfurt for one night, maybe on a little flight layover because I liked the experience with the very informative walking tour and the knowledge I have now about the city – totally changed the way I see it. There are some parts that you should visit whilst being in Frankfurt, which should be done in a couple of hours but I wouldn’t spend more than two nights.
Frankfurt, the city clearly has something to offer. TRAVEL FOREVER and visit Frankfurt !
